This past weekend I had the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. While I’ve known for a some time now that my end goal is to work in government, the trip just sparked a newfound sense of urgency to relocate. The atmosphere in the city gave me motivation that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. On day one, we were able to visit the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and White House. While most of the Cherry Blossoms had fallen by the time we were able to travel, we did have a chance to attend the Cherry Blossom Festival.  It was an enjoyable event which included Japanese-themed food, crafts and performances.
