Students during Ramadan: Ideas

My biggest suggestion for children who are fasting during Ramadan is to make sure that you keep them occupied when other students are at lunch. Their days are extremely strenuous, and more often than not, when they are elementary-school-aged they can’t fully comprehend why they aren’t eating. Create games, crafts, etc that they can complete daily.

Last year, I would pull fasting students from the entire school every meal period. Since a huge part of Ramadan is learning to be thankful for the blessings we have, we created “Gratitude Jars” and for each day of Ramadan we wrote down something we were thankful for.
